A variety of tests usually fall under the general term of stress test. These include stress, persantine, or thalium tests, dobutamine (pharmacologic) or stress echocardiography, and traditional electrocardiographic stress tests. Any of these may reveal inadequate blood flow to the heart. During a stress test, the heart is monitored both at rest and with exercise or stress to see if there is a difference in blood flow.
